THIS INTENSIVE HAS BEEN COMPLETED.

Take advantage of this ‘one-dayer’ to learn all about data management from the guru himself, Bradley Andrew. Deep dive into everything from the role of the Data Wrangler to working on different types of productions, with various software and workflows. Learn back up protocols and troubleshooting issues. Brad is the person many other professional data wranglers refer to for ‘best industry practice’… or that tricky conundrum.

Data Management Intensive

It can be surprising how many camera crew members have poor practices when it comes to on-set data management. Possibly because they have not had the opportunity to be taught the best way. Or they may have learned from sources online that were simply incorrect. When it comes to data, you don’t want to make mistakes… and you don’t need stress. Learning from Brad will ensure you are on the same path as the best 2AC’s and Data Wranglers out there.

Based on a component from our extremely popular 2nd AC Certificate Course, this class has helped many crew achieve positions on film sets where data is part of their everyday responsibility. If you want to know how to ‘do data right’, this is the class. We go into more depth than in the 2nd AC Course. NB: This module is not a substitute for that course, and entry is not guaranteed into the 2nd AC Course, which is by application only, and highly sought after.

What is the benefit of doing this Intensive?

Having the professional and expert skills of data wrangling and media management makes you more employable and attractive to productions in the role of 2nd AC or Data Wrangler. The daily rates are higher and you will earn an extra $250 per day (approx) for supplying your Data Kit MacBook or Laptop with software loaded. Crew with deficient data skills are quickly revealed and make productions very nervous. This class will validate you as having industry leading knowledge. That means more paying jobs.

What to expect:

  • A variety of different professional digital cameras and media types to work with
  • Hands-on use of software and camera/media processes
  • (Optional but recommended) BYO laptop with some data management software installed (free or trial versions is OK). You will be advised what to load before the class.
  • Full and detailed explanation of processes, software and equipment usage
  • Hands-on practice data wrangling and feedback on your methods
  • Handouts to take with you so you can review the day
  • Participants who attend the entire class will receive a signed Certificate of Completion

There is no application process for this course, so ShotClass suggests you make your own appraisal as to whether the course is suitable for you.
