Liam Gilmour ACS is an award winning Australian based Director of Photography and accredited member of the Australian Cinematographers Society. Graduating RMIT University with distinction in 2009 and joining the screen industry shortly after. Liam has lensed feature films as well as television drama projects throughout Australia, he has also shot Second Unit on multiple American feature films. As a commercial Cinematographer, Liam has worked with almost every major Australian commercial production company and many reputable overseas companies. He has been fortunate to work in over 30 countries throughout his career and as such brings a wealth of understanding to any project.
He is highly experienced in Virtual Production, with hundreds of hours on volume stages across the globe. In 2024 he completed a UK/Malaysian co-production television series entirely shot at Nant Studios in Melbourne. This included significant development of Unreal Engine backgrounds as well as detailed R&D with Nant Studios in the United States and Post Supervisor Adrian Corsei to facilitate a multi-camera series on their volume stages.
Over the years, Liam’s work has garnered several awards including, Cannes Gold Lions, D&AD Pencils, Clios, Spikes, the ACS Golden Tripod and several ACS Golds. His work has screened at festivals across the globe including: Berlin ‘Berlinale’, Sundance, Clermont Ferrand, Slamdance, Melbourne International Film Festival and Sydney International Film Festival to name a few.
